Emergency Medicine Residencies

The Emergency Medicine residency programs are affiliated with the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). The programs include a three-year Emergency Medicine and a five-year Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine Residency. With its high acuity of illness, 66,000 Emergency Department visits per year and designation as both a Level 1 pediatric and adult trauma center for the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago, the department offers an ideal learning environment. The physical plant includes a state of the art Emergency Department that opened in July 2015. Emergency Medicine residents rotate at Lutheran General Hospital through Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Pediatric Intensive Care and Trauma services, in addition to treating patients in the Emergency Department. All Faculty in the Emergency Department are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
