The teaching faculty consists of 122 dedicated, board-certified physicians with interest and expertise in teaching clinical medicine. These physicians have chosen to engage in an academic teaching career in Internal Medicine, with emphasis either in primary care or sub-specialty care.
In addition to the Program Director, Jill Patton, DO, our residents work closely with two Associate Program Directors: Jadwiga Loj, MD, Victoria Montgomery, DO, as well as four Core Faculty Members: Dr. Sheetal Chi, MD, Dr. Alma Arslanagic, MD, Dr. Ifeyemi Odeyemi, MD, and Dr. Thomas Holmes, MD. As Clerkship Director, Dr. Brenda Affinati, MD works with rotating medical students.
Dr. Jadwiga Loj obtained her medical degree from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She was a Chief Resident and currently serves as an Associate Program Director and Recruitment Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She also works as an AMG hospitalist at ALGH. Dr. Loj enjoys travel, modern art and international cinematography.
Dr. Victoria Montgomery obtained her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Lutheran General Hospital and later became Chief Resident. She currently serves as Associate Program Director and Chairman of the Safety Committee for the Internal Medicine residency program at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She practices with the Nesset Ambulatory Internal Medicine group that supervises the resident Continuity Clinic. She enjoys playing with her two children and spending time with her family.

As Clerkship Director, Dr. Brenda Affinati, MD works with rotating medical students. Dr. Brenda R. Affinati obtained her medical degree from University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her internship, residency and chief residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
She currently serves as the Clerkship Director for the Internal Medicine residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Chicago Medical School. Her interests include jogging, reading and watching her 3 boys play soccer.
