Applicants
The Department of Family Medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, Illinois, uses the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) software.
Their website is: https://www.aamc.org/students/medstudents/eras and contains all the information you need to get started with your ERAS application, including application deadlines and match process information.
- Interview season starts approximately mid-October.
- We begin reviewing applications as soon as ERAS allows, preference is given to applicants with complete applications.
- Deadline for applying through ERAS is November 1st.
As per AAMC recommendations, we will be conducting virtual interviews.

Allopathic
- USMLE Part I-Score should be a Pass by the 2nd attempt.
- USMLE Part II-Score should be a minimum of 214 by the 2nd attempt.
Step II score must be submitted in ERAS by Feb 1st.
Osteopathic
- Comlex Level 1-Score should be a Pass by the 2nd attempt.
- Comlex Level 2 CE (Cognitive Exam) Score should be a minimum of 420 by the 2 attempt.
Comlex Level 2 scores must be submitted in ERAS by Feb 1st.
All Applicants
- Graduation from medical school should be within two years and you should be recently clinically active in the practice of medicine. Research time and Observerships do not qualify as clinical involvement.
- Must be a permanent resident or hold a green card.
- We do not accept H1, J1 Visas or Visas of any kind including EAD.
- Must have a good command of the English language.
- International graduates must have ECFMG certification prior to being offered an interview.
- Interviews are offered by invitation. Preference given to graduates of U.S. Medical Schools.
