Curriculum

Fellows rotate on a monthly basis.  Full-time fellows normally do a different rotation every month.  Part-time fellows usually do the same rotation for two months in a row.

  • Anatomy - done at the Anatomy Lab at Oakton Community College.  This rotation normally takes place in July.
  • Orthopedics (monthly) - rotate at Orthopedic Surgery Specialists, Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, and/or AMG Sports Medicine Orthopedics
  • Physical Therapy - On site physical therapy specialists that concentrate in a variety of sports.
  • Sports Nutrition/Sports Psychology - these rotations are done during the same month(s).  Sports Nutrition is instructed by Andrea Rudser - Rusin, MA, RD,LSSD, ATC and Sports Psychology is part of the UIC Sports Medicine rotation.
  • Foot/Ankle - clinical supervision by Alan League, MD
  • Spine/Pain – clinical supervision at the ALGH Pain Clinic and various spine specialists in the area
  • Research/Electives - supervised by Dr. Skiba.  Work closely with Dr. Skiba and/or Dr. Suhs to prepare presentations for AMSSM and ACSM as well as other mutually agreed upon topics.
