Greetings from the chief medical officer

Thank you for your interest in Advocate Children’s Hospital! We have been committed to training pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists for 40 plus years. Our philosophy is simple -- we provide outstanding family centered care in a team based environment. Whether you are rounding in our state of the art critical care units, working with our amazing pediatric subspecialists, or caring for children in our busy primary care clinics, Advocate Children’s provides trainees a well-rounded experience.

We are one of the largest providers of pediatric care in the region. In addition to our two main campuses, we have seven community facilities within our system that provide pediatric and neonatal services. Our two campuses are designated as Level 1 trauma centers and Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Units, both the highest designations in the state. We have over 300 academic pediatricians, pediatric and surgical subspecialists on faculty, many of whom travel between our campuses.

Advocate Children’s Hospital is part of Advocate Health, one of the largest non-for-profit health care systems in the country. We have a robust population health approach to care and provide unique trauma informed services to the communities that we serve. We are committed to working with schools, local government, congregations, and community based agencies to improve the health outcomes of children and families in the greater Chicago metro area.

I have been a member of the Advocate family for close to 20 years and I could not imagine working in a system more consistent with my values. I encourage you to explore the unique programs that we offer at both campuses and wish you the best of luck in your pediatric training!

Sincerely,
Frank Belmonte, D.O., MPH
