“I was born in Ukraine but called the suburbs of Chicago home for most of my life. While college and medical school brought me to Wisconsin, New York and beyond, I knew I ultimately wanted to return to the Midwest to start my medical career. I had the opportunity to rotate with the ObGyn department as a fourth year medical student and realized right away that Illinois Masonic Medical Center was the perfect fit for me. By combining the resources and rigor of an academic institution with the camaraderie and engagement of a small community program, this residency is the ideal environment for studying my role as a provider within my community and beyond. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, snuggling with my dog, propagating succulents, and bonding with my co-interns over our shared love for Taco Bell.

“I am born and raised from Northwest Florida and although I have spent much of my life on the Gulf Coast, I have called the Midwest home for 2 years now. I attended medical school in Ponce, Puerto Rico at Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU). Prior to medical school, I served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a Health Volunteer in rural Paraguay. I attended the University of South Alabama for undergrad and received a Masters in Public Health at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Upon moving to Chicago in 2019, I completed one year as a General Surgery resident at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). As a new Midwesterner, I look forward to the Chicago summers where I can ride bikes along the Lake Front Trail, play disc golf at the local parks, and explore the city. I am grateful to complete my OB/GYN residency at Illinois Masonic Advocate Health Care's OB/GYN department and look forward to the next four years with the team".

“Born and raised in Chicago’s south suburbs, I went away to Kansas City for UMKC’s 6 year medical program. After missing my mom too much, I came back to my rightful home of Chicago. I chose Masonic for many reasons. The smaller resident class size was great because I knew I wanted maximal exposure with patients and complex cases, not to mention more one-on-one teaching with the attendings on general and specialty services. In my free time I love weightlifting, cooking, eating Taco Bell, reading, and “vegetarian-izing” all of Chicago’s food scene. "

"I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago before moving down to Champaign-Urbana for undergrad at the University of Illinois. For medical school, I moved up to Chicago to attend Rush Medical College and fell in love with the diversity of the city. I’ve been fortunate to match at Illinois Masonic and now work with wonderful, intelligent, motivated residents and faculty. In my free time I enjoy spending time with pets, running along the lakefront, and covering my Taco Bell items in mild sauce."

"I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. After moving to Chicago with my family, I formed new roots and fell in love with the Windy City. I graduated from York Community High School in Elmhurst, IL and completed my undergrad years at the University of Illinois, Chicago. After finishing my medical school education at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, I decided to return back home. I am so excited to be a part of the Illinois Masonic Family! The people are what makes this residency a great place to train and I have found a new family here at Masonic. The diverse patient population and commitment to patient care are part of the reasons why I love this program. In my spare time, I love cooking, trying new foods and exploring the city!"

"Born and raised in Chicago, I am so excited to continue my career in this beautiful city! I went to Northwestern University for undergrad, where I studied psychology and then University of Illinois at Chicago for medical school. During my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing, yoga, and trying new food. Illinois Masonic not only provides care to an incredibly diverse patient population but also represents that diversity in their staff. I am excited to be a part of the Illinois Masonic family!"

"As someone who was born and raised in Troy, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, I am no stranger to the midwest but new to Chicago! I did my undergraduate training at the University of South Carolina and came back home to the mitten when I went to medical school at the Western Michigan Homer Stryker MD School of Medicine. I was so excited to start my training at Illinois Masonic with its diverse patient population, small class size that maximizes clinical education and mentorship, as well as the culture of community that is a part of this residency. When I am not working I enjoy cycling (both on the Lakeshore or on my Peloton), baking, and spending time with my family and friends."

"I grew up in Naperville, Illinois. I attended University of Wisconsin - Madison for undergrad and then Rosalind Franklin University for Medical School. I had the privilege of rotating at Illinois Masonic during my 4th year of medical school and really loved the program because of the residents and faculty I worked with. From the beginning I could see how close and supportive the residents were of one another. I could also see that faculty go above and beyond to teach and push residents to be the most informed, thorough, and compassionate physicians they can be. In my free time, I like to work out, spend as much time as possible outside, and go to dinner with family and friends at all the spectacular restaurants Chicago has to offer. "

Medical School: Midwestern University

"I grew up in a small town at the border of IL and WI and have stayed in IL throughout my educational career. I went to Augustana College for undergrad and then found myself at Midwestern University in Downers Grove for Medical School. My husband and I are from the same hometown, so of course I wanted to stay in IL for residency so we could be close to both of our families. I've never lived in the city before matching at IL Masonic, but I'm loving finding new places to eat at and hang out! I am so happy to have matched at Masonic for OBGYN! I've always thrived in smaller environments because they provide more one-on-one training and better learning opportunities. Plus, my co-residents are awesome! In my spare time, I like to a take 3-hour naps, read books, do yoga, snuggle with my dog, Hamilton (yes, named after the best musical ever) and play with my 3 bunnies. I also like to spend as much time as possible hanging out with my husband, family, and friends. "

"Hi! I grew up deep in the Sonoran Desert in Phoenix, AZ and called it home all the way through college at Arizona State University. After undergrad, I moved out to the East Coast and received my Masters in Public Health at the George Washington University. Medical school took me north to Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in the heart of Newark, NJ. Moving to Chicago for residency and completing my collection of continental time zones was the next logical step, and I’m so happy to have matched at Masonic for my Ob/Gyn training. There’s so much diversity in the patient population and the staff alike. The scope of care and privilege to provide care for this population is an incredible opportunity. In my free time, I’ll be found re-watching Star Wars, painting my nails, seeing my friends, or any combination thereof! "

Medical School: University of Illinois - Rockford

"Although born in Chicago, I was raised in the suburbs of Dallas, TX, and Atlanta, GA. I then took a detour to Cleveland, OH for undergrad at Case Western Reserve University before finally returning to IL for medical school at the University of Illinois - Rockford. When choosing a residency program, I knew I wanted to train somewhere that offered robust clinical opportunities, a culture of camaraderie and community, and access to reproductive health training in a post Roe v. Wade world. Masonic met all those requirements and I am excited to have matched here! In my free time, I like to go to group fitness classes (OTF, hot yoga, spin), listen to audiobooks, visit/hike national parks, and stroll nature trails with a coffee in hand."

"I was born and raised in West Chicago, IL and went to medical school at Midwestern University CCOM. I was highly interested in the OB/GYN program at AIMMC because of the welcoming community and smaller class size. The senior residents and attendings are incredibly sweet and allow us to learn and grow at our own pace. The patient population and small class size allow us to get hands-on exposure immediately and learn exponentially. Outside of medicine, I enjoy napping, music, re-watching the same four TV shows, and creating memories with my friends and family!"

"I was born and raised in Northern Virginia and attended Virginia Tech for undergrad. After spending a couple years back in the DC area, I moved to Nashville for medical school and now call Chicago home! I was so fortunate to match at Illinois Masonic for OB/GYN and have been enjoying exploring what is quickly becoming my favorite city. Some of the things I love about this program are the mentorship and training opportunities offered by its size, the amazing patient population, and the tight-knit culture cultivated by my co-residents. The faculty here are truly committed to helping you become an incredibly knowledgeable, capable, and compassionate physician, and there are so many resources to take advantage of! When not at work, I can be found hanging out with friends, watching one of my favorite shows, listening to all decades of R&B, eating my way through Chicago, or sleeping."
