Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital was designated as a Magnet organization in 2013 and 2018 by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. This prestigious designation recognizes excellence in nursing services. In January 2023, Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital is applying for re-designation.
Magnet is a designation awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to organizations that demonstrate achievement of excellence in patient care and nursing. ANCC has established standards that define the highest quality of nursing practice and patient care. Hospitals applying for Magnet designation must provide written documentation and outcome data to show that those standards have been achieved. Following approval of an organization's written documentation, a site visit by ANCC reviewers is scheduled for further assessment, evaluation and verification.
