Future healthcare professionals program
Good Shepherd Hospital is proud to offer the prestigious Future Healthcare Professionals Program to eight high school juniors interested in health related (non-physician) careers. Students are chosen based on their interview, teacher/counselor recommendation, written essay, past experiences and grade point average.
Students will receive information on projected annual salaries and job outlook, education requirements and will observe the following areas:
- dietary
- laboratory
- nursing
- pharmacy
- physical, occupational and speech therapies
- radiology
The program will meet in the month of June, Monday through Friday, eight hours a day. No vacation or personal days are permitted.
This unpaid multi-faceted observation experience is open to students who reside in the primary and secondary service area of Good Shepherd. For more information about the program, contact Wendy Perlin at wendy.perlin@advocatehealth.com.
