In 2010, Advocate Health became a founding sponsor of the Healthier Hospitals Initiative, a 3-year national campaign to implement best practices focused on improving sustainability in the health care sector. Healthier Hospitals is now a permanent program of Practice Greenhealth, engaging over 1,300 hospitals in six challenge categories: Engaged Leadership, Healthier Foods, Leaner Energy, Less Waste, Safer Chemicals and Smarter Purchasing.
In partnership with a number of leading health systems, Health Care Without Harm and Practice Greenhealth, Advocate Health is working to accelerate market changes toward environmentally-preferable products and services for the health care sector and beyond through participation in two Market Transformation Groups.
Midwest Business Group on Health (MBGH) is one of the nation’s leading nonprofit business groups of mid and large, self-insured public and private employers, offering education, research and community-based activities that increase the value of health benefits, health care services, and wellness.
