The Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center is a four-year ACGME-accredited training program dedicated to providing comprehensive, in-depth, and hands-on experience in all aspects of radiologic technique and practice.
Located on the north side of Chicago, Illinois Masonic Medical Center is a 517-bed tertiary care facility providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to a diverse adult and pediatric population. The hospital is one of four Level 1 trauma centers in the Chicagoland area and home to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the highest designation awarded by the state of Illinois. With over 100,000 exams performed annually, our residents have access to a broad range of cases in every medical and surgical, including pediatrics and obstetrics/gynecology.
Resident education is provided by our dedicated faculty radiologists and includes a combination of one-on-one teaching, daily didactic lectures and case conferences, and extracurricular scholarly activities including research projects and quality improvement initiatives.
The Department of Radiology recently revised the radiology residency curriculum to reflect the new American Board of Radiology certification timeframe. Residents rotate through all subspecialties of Radiology, with additional experience in pediatrics provided by three months of training at Lurie Children’s Hospital, the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region. Residents also receive one month of additional training in Nuclear Medicine at Loyola University.
Our four-year residency program provides extensive exposure to both the common and extraordinary cases; our residency graduates are thus highly trained in all aspects of radiology and are ideal candidates for both academic and private practice settings.
