Our home infusion team
Advocate Health at Home infusion specialists are highly trained and offer the same level of care you’ve come to expect from Advocate Health Care. We work closely with each patient and patient family as well as your doctor to ensure we are meeting your clinical needs as well as helping you achieve your health goals. Our team members include:
- Clinical pharmacists who are specially trained to manage all infusion therapies and monitor your care plan
- Specialized nurses who are trained in infusion therapy
- IV technicians who assist with IV therapies and are licensed by the state as well as certified in compounding sterile processing techniques

Our services
Advocate Health at Home infusion specialists provide a wide range of services for patients, including:
- Coordinate the transition of infusion antibiotic therapy from hospital to home with a 4-hour turnaround from receiving a physician’s order
- Ensure patient safety, following strict reaction protocols that allow (when possible) for first dose of therapy to be given at home
- Determine the most effective administration method for each patient, including traditional gravity administration, intravenous push administration and ambulatory pump options
- Continually assess the effectiveness of treatments and monitor patients for signs of adverse reactions
- Communicate regularly with physicians regarding your health status and recommend treatment changes if needed
