Background

Advocate Christ Medical Center & Children’s Hospital (ACMC) is part of Advocate Health, one of the nation’s leading health care networks and Chicago’s largest provider of health care. A not-for-profit, 805-bed community teaching, research, and tertiary care hospital, ACMC is one of the major referral hospitals in the Midwest for a number of specialties, including cancer care; cardiovascular services; heart and kidney transplantation; neurosciences; orthopedics; and women’s health.  The hospital is also home to several medical residency programs including Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, and Pediatrics.

As a State of Illinois designated Level I Trauma Center, ACMC treats over 115,000 emergency patients each year and has one of the busiest Level 1 trauma centers in Illinois. Staffed by highly skilled medical professionals who are board-certified in emergency care, ACMC offers the latest in diagnostic and treatment technology. We also have a trauma surgery team available on site 24/7 and a dedicated inpatient trauma unit. Designated as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics by the State of Illinois, ACMC also provides advanced emergency care to nearly 21,000 children each year.
