Podiatry

Mission statement

Our mission is to train residents as health professionals who are involved in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of foot and ankle disorders by medical, physical and surgical means. The program provides for podiatric training in a multidisciplinary setting where the residents can gain experience working with and alongside other medical practitioners in providing total health care.

Program description

The program’s flagship hospital is located in the heart of Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, just steps away from Wrigley Field and Lincoln Park Zoo.

The residency program is a CPME accredited Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery and is co-sponsored with Advocate Health Care and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine.

We offer positions to three residents per year.

The program is designed to provide intensive clinical and surgical training, which supplements the resident's previous podiatric medical/surgical experience.

We offer surgical training in a diverse array of pedal pathology, from simple operative procedures through to complex foot and ankle reconstructive procedures, as well as complete peri-operative management of patients undergoing all types of elective and non-elective surgery.
