  • General Description: During this rotation, the medical student will follow patients, both outpatient and inpatient. The student will become familiar with various developmental screening tools. The student will develop a working knowledge of the specifics of developmental issues involving children.
  • Objectives:
    • Improve the student’s ability to perform an accurate and complete history and physical exam, with the primary focus in Pediatric Development.
    • Improve the student’s ability to develop and execute a management plan for patients, including a diagnostic workup and specific treatment options in the field of Pediatric Development for both acute and chronic disorders.

  • General description: During this rotation, the medical student will round each weekday with the infectious diseases attending and team. Students will be expected to see new consults, obtain a history, perform a physical exam, and develop a management plan before presenting to the team. Students will pre-round on their patients each morning and present on rounds. Students can expect to see a variety of inpatient infectious diseases during the rotation. They will learn about appropriate diagnostic testing and treatment (including discussion of appropriate use of antimicrobials) of common infectious diseases.
