Therapy practicum

Group of people in a row shoulder to shoulderTherapy and advanced therapy practicum positions are available to graduate level clinical psychology and social work students. Each trainee has the opportunity to work with an ethnically and racially diverse population of children, adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting. Therapeutic modalities include: individual, family, couples and group psychotherapy. In addition to the outpatient clinic, intensive training opportunities are offered through the following programs: Emergency Department, Substance Use Intensive Outpatient Program, and Women’s Health in an OB/Gyn setting.

The therapy and advanced therapy practicum experiences are a one year, 1000hour (20 hours per week) commitment, beginning July 1 of each year. Each trainee receives a minimum of 2 hours of clinical supervision each week, including one hour individual and one hour group supervision. Training is further augmented by 1.5 hours per week of didactic/case presentations.

The practicum training program follows ACEPT application, interviewing and notification procedures.
