Who should apply?
Applicants who are interested in:
- A general experience with an opportunity for specialization
- Involvement with a health care system emphasizing outpatient ambulatory care and community interventions
- Working with children, adolescents and adult populations
- Working with ethnically and culturally diverse populations
- Working with a broad range of treatment modalities and interventions from an integrative theoretical perspective
The clinical psychology internship program is accredited by the American Psychological Association Commission on Accreditation.

Minimum requirements
- Applicants must have minimum of 500 intervention and assessment practicum hours at the time of application
- Applicants must be enrolled in an APA-accredited doctoral graduate program in clinical or counseling psychology
- All doctoral coursework must be complete by the start of internship

Minority applicants
Minority applicants are strongly encouraged to apply to the clinical psychology internship program. The system serves a multicultural and multi-ethnic community, and the recognition of cultural variables and individual differences is embedded in all of the services and training that we provide. There are significant and growing numbers of Latino groups in the geographic area we serve, and there are exciting opportunities for students who are bilingual in Spanish and English. There are abundant opportunities for individual and family therapy experiences in both languages at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Full admission to the internship training program is based upon the successful completion of all Advocate Health Care and Advocate Illinois Masonic application process and pre-employment requirements, including a pre-employment drug test screening and medical examination (which occur before training begins).
