Our program is constantly improving in quality and performance, driven by the input of fellows and administration. To get the best view of our program and everything we have to offer, take a moment to review our 2020-21 CCEP Fellowship Program Manual.
As we are a small program, the fellows gain valuable hands-on experience both in the state-of-the-art electrophysiology lab and through seeing consulting patients on the floors and in the clinics. This experience is heightened through two conferences a week – one a more didactic experience and discussion of the current literature and one a more case-based review of current patients.
The program is supplemented with an outside interventional rotation at Advocate Christ Medical Center, which has an extensive interventional EP program. Fellows will also get the opportunity to rotate with the program director on cases and clinics at Advocate Lutheran Hospital.
In the first year, fellows will learn, first-hand, the clinical details of becoming a practicing electrophysiologist. The second year will be an advanced version of the same information and will have an additional layer of research requirements.
There are no conferences during Blocks 1 or 12 to accommodate transition of care and fellowship responsibilities. Fellows will be required to participate in the following didactic opportunities annually throughout their training:
Heart Rhythm Grand Rounds Conference
Tuesday - AM Faculty/ Fellow
Cases and topics included will provide additional education on core concepts of heart rhythm.

Interested in CME Credit?
The RSS CME lectures held each week during blocks 2-12 create an abundant opportunity for fellows to obtain all the required CME credits during their fellowship training. These credits can range anywhere from 88 (2 lectures/week) to 176 (4 lectures/week) per academic year.
