Malikwaseem Ahmad MD

Malikwaseem Ahmad, MD, MPH
(Waseem)

Dr. Ahmad is currently an Endocrinology Fellow at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Illinois. He received his Medical Degree from Punjab Medical College in Pakistan and his Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Grand Valley State University, Michigan. Dr. Ahmad completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He has received numerous awards such as Tulip award for best patient care experience (2019), and The Christ Hospital Stephen Mueller Humanitarian award (2022) in recognition for his excellence in patient care, outstanding professional altruism, respect, empathy, and compassion with his patients. During his residency, he has published and presented numerous abstracts at national conferences. Additionally, Dr. Ahmad has also served as intern on numerous Public Health projects in Michigan.

Angela Pauline P. Calimag

Angela Pauline P. Calimag, BSN, RN, MAN, MD

Dr. Calimag is currently an Endocrinology Fellow at Advocate Christ Medical Center/ Advocate Health Care after completing her Internal Medicine Residency at the same institution. She received her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Manila, Philippines. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas College of Nursing, Graduated Cum Laude, and was a consistent Dean’s Lister throughout her studies.

She was a Board Topnotcher (8th place) in the February 2015 Philippine Medical Licensure Exam and earned a Masters in the Art of Nursing from the Philippine Women’s University. Dr. Calimag has won many accolades. She was awarded the Program Award for Excellence in scholarly activities for her interest in research and writing publications from Advocate Christ Medical Center (2022). Her project entitled “COVID-19 Associated Kidney Injury: A Single-Center Community Experience of 684 Consecutive Patients” won first place in the oral presentation category at Advocate Christ Annual Research Day (2021).

She also won third place in the poster presentation category at ACP Illinois Northern Regional Conference for her Case report on Blastomycosis in Pregnancy (2020). She was the First Registered Nurse of Albany Medical Center to be awarded The Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses in 2017, while working as a registered nurse at Albany Medical Center in their Cardiothoracic unit.

Mounika Paravastu

Mounika Paravastu, DO
(Mounika)

Dr. Paravastu is currently an Endocrinology Fellow at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Illinois. She received her medical degree from Kansas City University in Kansas City, Missouri and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated with Highest Distinction for her research in Biochemistry/Endocrinology.

Prior to starting her medical training, she worked in research at OSF Healthcare in Peoria, IL and supported projects focused on improving patient outcomes and reducing the cost of care for chronically ill patients.
