eICU at Advocate Health Care

At Advocate Health Care, we understand that no one can replace the comfort and reassurance of a physician present at the bedside when a loved one is admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).  In addition to the excellent care provided by our bedside teams, Advocate adult ICU patients benefit from an extra layer of expert care from our electronic intensive care (eICU) staff.  Our board-certified intensive care physicians and critical care nurses use the most up-to-date quality patient care practices and technology in critical care medicine to monitor every adult patient in the ICU, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Advocate was the first hospital system in the Chicago area to implement eICU technology and has one of the largest eICU programs in the country.  Our superb bedside care and the eICU technology have resulted in one of the lowest mortality rates of all the 45 national systems utilizing this technology.  Superior patient outcomes, quality improvement initiatives, and our dedication to excellence have led other systems outside of Advocate to collaborate with us as well.
