CPAP/BiPAP (sleep) therapy

If you have been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machine while you sleep can play a vital role in your treatment plan. Positive airway pressure therapy can help you feel more focused, rested and energetic. It can also help reduce the risk of health conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, which has been linked to the sleep disorder.

At Advocate Health at Home, we know that the key to successful sleep apnea treatment using a CPAP or BiPAP machine is that the equipment fits correctly and is tailored to your unique needs. As a result, we provide you with the equipment, education and resources to help ensure treatment is comfortable and easy to use so you can get the sleep your body needs.

CPAP or BiPAP setup services

For the best CPAP and BiPAP equipment selection and mask fitting, we begin the setup process in one of our sleep labs or our suburban office. Here, our sleep technicians offer these services:

  • Help selecting from a wide selection of mask interfaces, including both nasal and full-face masks.
  • Provide a personal fitting with the appropriate mask to ensure your CPAP or BiPAP therapy is customized to your needs.
  • Train you on how to use your CPAP or BiPAP unit and troubleshoot problems.
  • Explain when to use the machine and the importance of compliance.
  • Discuss why CPAP or BiPAP is so important for you and provide answers to your questions about your sleep study results.
  • Outline tips to help you sleep, including practicing good sleep hygiene.
  • Answer any questions regarding insurance coverage.
  • Review our thorough follow-up care within 48 hours after your initial training as well as 30, 60 and 90 days after your training and resupply program for products.

Follow-up services

Once you've been fitted with your therapy unit and taught how to use it, you'll bring the equipment home to begin CPAP or BiPAP therapy. If you have any questions or problems, Advocate Health at Home professionals are here to support you.
