Comprehensive stroke clinic

As a certified comprehensive stroke center, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital provides the highest level of stroke care – diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education - to the community. The comprehensive stroke center designation is the highest level of recognition and has been earned for our rapid identification, emergency treatment of stroke and an unmatched continuum of care. Our outpatient Comprehensive Stroke Clinic, at the Brain & Spine Institute, provides expert care from a multidisciplinary team for Advocate patients who have experienced a stroke. The patient has individual, but subsequent visits from Fellowship-trained vascular Neurologist, an Endovascular Neurosurgeon, Physical Therapy, nursing and rehabilitation. Appointments can be scheduled through the Stroke Patient Care Liaison, also providing patient support through insurance, language and medication barriers.
