The Center for Robotic Surgery is a Best Practice Center – a designation given to hospitals that have outstanding robotic surgery programs and are equipped to train hospitals looking to offer robotic surgery to their patients.

Patients undergoing a robotic-assisted surgery generally experience less pain and faster recovery. Depending on your procedure, you and your doctor may want to discuss taking advantage of this advanced surgical technology.

The following is important information to prepare for your surgery. Please review the following steps:

Step 1:

Pre-registration, insurance verification, preauthorization or precertification must happen before your surgery. Our patient registration department will call you to gather your insurance information. Call patient registration at 847-723-1900.

Step 2:

A presurgical nurse may perform a patient health history by a phone call or visit. This history provides important information used to properly prepare you, and ease the admission process on the day of surgery.

Step 3:

After 1 p.m. on the day before your surgery, a presurgery nurse will contact you with the time you must arrive at the hospital along with important information regarding eating and drinking before surgery. If you have not received a phone call from a presurgery nurse by 7 p.m., please call the presurgery unit at 847-723-7400 before 9 p.m.
