Dr. John V. White is a board certified vascular surgeon who specializes in the advanced diagnosis and treatment of all types of problems of arteries and veins. He is Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

After receiving his medical degree with honors from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. White served his surgical residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and his vascular fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Following training, he joined the Department of Surgery at Temple University School of Medicine where he became Professor of Surgery (with Tenure) and Director of Surgical Research.

In 1999 he returned to the Chicago area and became a member of the Medical Staff at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. White is involved in all aspects of vascular care of patients, including diseases of arteries, veins, chronic pelvic pain due to pelvic varicose veins, and lymphedema of the legs.

Dr. White has special interests in complex aortic diseases, aortic aneurysms, surgical safety, healthcare delivery, and healthcare guidelines. He has had a long research interest in the causes and treatments of aortic aneurysms and complex aortic diseases.

After completing medical school at The University of Chicago, general surgical residency at Duke, and vascular surgical fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dr. Schwartz joined the Section of Vascular Surgery at The University of Chicago.  For ten years he maintained an academic practice in vascular surgery as well as conducted federally-funded research in the fields of vascular biology, rheology and gene therapy.

In 2003, Dr. Schwartz joined Abbott Laboratories as Global Medical Director for Thrombolysis then was named Divisional Vice President of the fledgling Abbott Vascular division in 2004 where he directed several programs of novel drug-device combinations for coronary and peripheral vascular disease including initiating the first-ever clinical trial of drug-eluting absorbable stents for the treatment of peripheral vascular occlusive disease.

In 2013, Dr. Schwartz was named Vice President, Global Device Development for Hospira, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer of generic injectable pharmaceuticals and infusion pumps, where he participated in restoring safety and regulatory compliance and reinvigorated the medical device pipeline.

After ten years in the device and pharmaceutical industries, Dr. Schwartz returned to his first love, the care and treatment of patients with vascular diseases.  He is a Clinical Associate at The University of Chicago and joined Advocate Lutheran Hospital in 2015.

Dr. Chad E. Jacobs is board-certified in vascular surgery and has been practicing vascular and endovascular surgery for over 10 years.  He specializes in the diagnosis, management and treatment of all aspects of vascular disease.  His particular interests include endovascular treatment of complex aortic aneurysms, open and endovascular management of carotid disease, open and endovascular management of peripheral vascular disease, hemodialysis access, and varicose vein treatment.

Dr. Jacobs received his medical degree with honors from New York University School of Medicine.  He subsequently completed his residency in general surgery at Rush–Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where he was distinguished as Chief Resident of the year.  Dr. Jacobs then went on to complete his fellowship training in vascular surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.  He joined the faculty as a vascular surgeon at Rush University Medical Center, and served as an attending vascular surgeon both at that institution as well as the John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County.  He provided leadership in many organizational and educational capacities at Rush, including Associate Program Director of the vascular surgery fellowship and Associate Professor of Surgery.

Dr. Jacobs joined Advocate Medical Group in 2015.  He currently enjoys several roles at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, including Division Director of Vascular Surgery, Co-director of the Vascular Laboratory, and Co-director of the Wound Care Center.  He has published numerous articles and book chapters related to vascular disease, and has given local and regional presentations regarding his work. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of many organizations including the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Midwest Vascular Surgical Society, and the American Venous Forum, among others.

Dr. Jacobs’ mission is to provide his patients with outstanding and cutting edge vascular and endovascular care in a setting of respect, education, and compassion.  Every patient is treated with the individualized care and attention required to meet their needs.

Dr. M. Nagui Sabri is a board certified interventional cardiologist whose primary focus is invasive cardiology­ and vascular medicine. His areas of expertise include general cardiology, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and peripheral arterial disease.

Dr. Sabri attended medical school at the University of Cairo and completed his residency at Yale University at St. Mary’s Hospital. He completed his fellowships at Medical College of Virginia Hospital and University of Connecticut. He has been in practice for 25 years.

Dr. Sabri speaks English, Arabic, Greek, and French. His mission is to listen carefully to the patient, take the time to provide all explanations as needed, and to care and support the whole patient as he would for his own family.
