How do e-visits work?

When life is busy, our e-visits offer you an easy solution to get 24/7 care from just about anywhere. They’re also quick – answer a few questions and you’ll receive a diagnosis and care plan from a virtual care provider within an hour.

E-visits are for minor illnesses like cold symptoms and back pain. And if you need antibiotics for an infection such as a urinary tract infection (UTI), an e-visit is an alternative to visiting urgent care or your primary care provider.

More things to know about e-visits

If you're an Advocate Health Care patient and are 18 or older, you can request an e-visit. You must be physically located in Illinois, Wisconsin or Michigan when you request the e-visit.

You can submit an e-visit for kids ages 2-11 if you're their legally authorized representative. E-visits are not available for children under 2 and teens ages 12-17, but you can request a Quick Care Video Visit.

When you do an e-visit, our next available virtual health provider will diagnose and treat you. Our providers will be able to access your medical history right from your LiveWell account. They’re trained to diagnose and treat common conditions and minor illnesses and will provide your diagnosis and care plan.

At any time during the e-visit, the virtual health provider may advise you to seek in-person treatment. You may be asked to come in for lab tests, like a urine sample, after your e-visit as part of your diagnosis and care plan. They’ll also let you know if you should follow up with your own doctor.

If you have questions or concerns after your e-visit, you can speak to a virtual health nurse by calling 844-284-0381.

Once you’ve submitted your e-visit questionnaire, you’ll need to call 844-284-0381 to cancel your e-visit. It can’t be canceled online.
