EMS Education – Paramedic Program

The Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Paramedic Program is CoAEMSP and CAAHEP accredited with a reputation for producing highly competent paramedics who are sought after by local departments.  The 10-month program is offered annually from August through June. Our skilled faculty and staff provide the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains necessary to produce high quality prehospital health care providers.

Our affiliation with Oakton College provides students with college credit, educational tracks, and degree possibilities.  Counseling and financial aid is also available through the college.  Applications traditionally become available in November and can be found on the OC website in the Fire Science section. Applications are due in March for a Fall start date.

The Program is based upon the National Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) EMS Education Standards and National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO) National EMS Scope of Practice Model.
